 August is the peak dengue epidemic over the years in Taiwan. Strengthening immigration quarantine and independent health management of foreign tourists are the main focuses of prevention and control in order to prevent the foreign dengue virus to infect with local species of mosquitoes caused by the local epidemic.

Events

To protect students, teaching staffs, parents and general public from passive smoking, the Department of Health, Taipei City Government has set out to introduce outdoor smoke-free sidewalks around the school. The regulation is based on Article 15, Paragraph 1, No. 13 of Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act. We newly announced that the sidewalks of 31 Taipei private high schools which subordinate to the Department of Education, Taipei City Government (a total of 267 smoke-free sidewalks around schools) are prohibited from smoking. The regulation comes into effect as of December 26, 2016. According to Article 31, Paragraph 1, violators will be fined from NT$2,000 to NT$10,000.
